  3. Hey Bruno! I grew up with stories from my dad who said that one of the members of Creedence Clearwater Revival was his cousin. He remembered spending time with him, going together to family functions, etc. Before my dad passed away (June 2011) he had alzheimer's and heart failure. He looked at one of the album covers and said, "I remember helping him change a tire" but that's all I got...How can I find out more? My email is jessandtess@hotmail.com thank you!

  4. Hello Bruno,

Stu Cook didn't play harmonica, John Fogerty did. The lider of CCR also played Hammond organ during "The Golliwogs" days.

Thanks for your dates, they are great.

  5. Hi Bruno. Great list! Heck of a lot of work!

I have a little additional info. I was at the concert in St. Louis, MO on August 10, 1971. It was my first. The opening acts were Tower of Power and Bo Diddly. The same as you mentioned for the Detroit show on July 11th. Also, I have a reproduction concert poster that list both acts as opening for CCR in Cincinnati, OH on July 12th. It also lists the venue as Cincinnati Gardens. I would surmise that most, if not all, of the concerts in July-August 1971 were the same.

Hope this helps flesh things out a little more.

  6. Hi Bruno, impressive list. THANKS !!
As a member of several online CCR and related mailinglists , forums and fanclubs I can tell you that we have an impressive list of gigs listed ourselves too. Lots of them don't seem to fit in with these. It will take a lof of work to find out which ones are right or wrong I guess. I'll try to compare them and let you know the result.
    Meanwhile,
    Keep on Chooglin' !!

    1. Hi Robert!

First of all thanks to appreciate my work and excuse me if my english is not perfect but I'm Italian!

About the Grande Ballroom gigs, CCR played only on May 2-3, and on May 4 Taj Mahal replaced them as headliner act (confirmed by a poster). Also I can confirm that CCR played at the Electric Circus on May 4 thanks to a couple of edition of Billboard magazine (one announced the upcoming gig and another had a very little review of the band performance).

      Cheers,
      Bruno Ceriotti

  11. was any one there for the concert in Vancouver either 1969 or 1970 when John was dressed in a full white cowboy suit? I was just a kid and don't remember which venue it was at.. but I do remember going with a buddy; John Chisolm

  13. This is fantastic! Thanks for compiling all of it!

As an fyi, in '64 for the gigs at the Monkey Inn and Town Mart, Mike Byrne is correct as the name of the piano player. He's my uncle, he's still around and playing, and remembers the time fondly.

  14. Bruno I saw them in Vancouver also in 69. My friend and I thumbed a ride from Barrie Ontario with 2 American draft dodgers right from Barrie. Three day trip out but took us three weeks to thumb home. Vancouver was a safe haven back then for these guys avoiding Vietnan.Just a bit of trivia. I don,t remember the white cowboy suit but we were a long ways up in the stadium. By thw John Fogerty is playing this week in Orrillia Ontario at Casino Rama. Thanxs much for your information.Paul

  20. I was 12 and my first concert was CCR, Santana opened for them at the Bakersfield "Civic" Auditorium, Bakersfield California 1970. After Santana, and as CCR was starting their set, a riot broke out, and the rest of concert cancelled. No where can I find anything about this. I was there. It happened. Any one have any info?

  21. Something for the collectors or archivists amongst us : "Yes I Love You / Oh Yes I Know" are the very first recordings from the 4 CCR members ever. Tommy Fogerty and the Blue Velvets recorded these songs at the Dick Vance Studios in 1959 on acetate only. Only a few copies exist. We got to hear these songs two months ago, so we know they exist :-)

  25. Hi Bruno,

Neither Tony Joe nor the Tower of Power played that evening at either show. Cochise was a UK band whose releases swung between Liberty and UA. CCR were on Liberty in the UK until Pendulum and then briefly the license was taken up by UA for Sweet Hitch-hiker (and Goodbye Media-Man) before Fantasy released Someday Never Comes in the UK during 1972.

    Best

    Steve
