  1. Hi Bruno
I was IABD roadie starting from Fillmore show 8/31/70, to the end of this list. I think the "unknown" European dates in 71 are not correct, but I am researching with my touring cohorts. Interesting note: Just before or after the 12/4/71 U of W show in Seattle, IABD and Taj played at Walla Walla state penitentiary - Taj played acoustic set for death row inmates. There are a few photos for sale at Wolfgang's Vault. More soon.

  2. Good to hear from you Mr. Jackson! (I think you're Hewitt Jackson, the former roadie of Sanpaku right?). If you worked as roadie with IABD starting from July 31, 1970 I think you can help me a lot! If you have other corrections and/or update please contact me directly through my e-mail: brunodoors@libero.it

PS: Sorry for my bad english but I'm Italian!

  3. Hi Bruno,
I recently saw some show updates on your FB page. New Orleans was like a second home to IABD. Interesting note, the June 20-something, 1971 show in Baton Rouge was nick-named by the bands "The Festival of Mud." It was a logistical nightmare in an ankle-deep swamp. We went to New Orleans afterwards for some R&R. We heard Billy Gregory playing in a dive bar called The Ivanhoe, and literally unplugged his guitar in mid-song and kidnapped him.

  5. On August 1, 1971 (I think) I saw Country Joe play Provo park in Berkeley and KSAN was giving away two tickets to see Beautiful Day and Tower of Power broadcast live from Wally Heider's that same day in SF. Larry Sasnow and I quick drove over there, walked in, sat down on the oriental rugs with maybe 15 other people and saw the show of our lives with Tom Donohue hosting. Thanks for listening. I have more stories.

    1. correct Bill, the Country Joe gig at Provo Park was on August 1, 1971. I didn't know about the IABD gig on the same day, thanks, I added it to my list and give you the credit for the help.

Thanks for the memories and if you have many more feel free to write anything you want, I really appreciate it!

      Cheers,
      Bruno

  6. They played Fort Collins, CO in 1970. I remember that much, but due to other activities that same evening, I cannot actually remember which month it was.

    2. Pardon my removing a comment; I had to correct something. I just wanted to say that the 1971 concerts in Las Vegas were at a venue called The Ice Palace. It was an ice skating and hockey rink that was transformed for concerts with plywood over the ice. Maybe its name was listed somewhere as the Nevada Sports Palace, but the sign outside did not say that, and nobody in Las Vegas ever called it that. I attended the show with Poco, and the most remarkable aspect was that Poco, as headliner, hit the stage to a nearly empty room. Despite having a top radio hit at the time, their music did not fit with the opening acts, and most people left the arena.
